Hello all! I have some updates and news for you today.
First off, I did something kind of intimidating today.
I joined…. Twitter….
Lol, why is that intimidating, you ask?
Because I have no idea what I’m doing, or what all I’ll tweet about as of yet. But, as always, I just kind of threw myself into it. 😀
It’s been something I’ve been wanting to do for a while. As I get closer to self-publishing my first collection of stories, I figure I really need to get on the whole self-promoting and networking thing. Which, lol, I am really, really bad at. So this is going to be an adventure. 😀
I’m going to play around with it for a while and figure out how to promote myself on there. Have any tips for a noob Twitter-er?
And if you want to follow me, you can find me here: My Twitter
And here soon-ish, I’m hoping by tonight-ish or tomorrow-ish, I shall have another chapter ready for you guys. And I have a couple more movie reviews I’m working on as well. Lol, I’m having a lot of fun with those.
Also, in case you haven’t already heard – *deep breath, attempting to maintain calmness* – I learned from the fabulous Jae, over at Lit and Scribbles, that The Jim Henson Company is having a contest!
*keeps a death-grip on the calm*
The Jim Henson Company is looking for a prequel to The Dark Crystal.
I loved this movie when I was a kid – lol, and I still do. 🙂
They’re accepting submissions starting October 1’st, until December 31’st, for a 7,500-10,000 word piece. Either a few chapters or a short story that would be the inspiration for a novel, 50,000+ words. It’ll be in the Young Adult genre.
Now there is one thing that’s worrying people – you will be giving up the rights to your piece once they have it in their hands. Please read the fine print carefully before submitting, and make sure you’re comfortable with it.
Here is the website so you can check it out for yourselves (the rules are at the bottom): The Dark Crystal Author Quest
The way I’m thinking of it, even if I don’t win, and they choose to use something I’ve written anyway, I would get some kind of credit for that, right? Lol, it would be something to add to my writing resume at least. 🙂 I’m going to re-read the rules and make sure I understand what I’m getting myself into, but I’m probably still going to just dive in, lol. Wish me luck! 😀
My inner child is freaking out right now, lol. Full-scale, epic level geek-out. XD
Good luck to all of you who want to participate!
Until next time, Happy Writing and Take Care! 🙂

Good luck! I loved Dark Crystal, too 🙂
Thank you, Joleene! 😀 I’m really looking forward to working on this, even though I’ve never tried Young Adult.
Twitter is only a conduit for my blog (WordPress ==> Twitter ==> Facebook). Frankly, it looks nuts over there.
Occasionally I go on just to tweet some inane comment no one will read.
I did once write a story on it (early on).
That’s it; that’s all the help I can give.
Yeah, I’m hoping I can use Twitter to promote my blog more. I’m not sure what all I’ll tweet about otherwise, or if anyone will read it, but I’m excited to try it out. 🙂
Lol, it is kind of crazy over on Twitter, but I’m having fun playing with different things. We shall see how this goes. 😀 Thank you so much for following me my friend!
You are brave! I am not a twitterer or a twit or whatever. Heck, I can’t even keep up a face book account. I wish they would drop me because of inactivity and general ineptitude.
Good luck with Twitter. Some people find it very useful for connecting and marketing. I hope you do, too!
Thank you, Lorna! 🙂 Lol, I’m so bad at keeping up with things like Facebook. XD I’m hoping Twitter and Facebook will end up being good marketing and networking tools – lol, I’m really hoping. But first, I must figure out how to use them properly. I’m slowly getting the hang of them though. 😀
