DA FF: Blades (5g: Red Crystal)

“Hmm…” Tilting my head, I approach Jeremiah with a little saunter in my step. “Tempting…”

Hiding the action of one hand behind me, I use the other to distract him, reaching to cup his cheek. I signal the others with a subtle gesture.

Even though I can’t see them, I know Caleb and Sylas are ready to strike.

Jeremiah clasps my hand, giving me a chilling smile, and I have him right where I want him.

 

Darkside Ending 5

“After all this time, I can still read you.”

Jeremiah’s words have barely left his lips before I feel a horrible, fiery pain ripping through my stomach.

The strength leaves me, and all I’m left with is shock as he grips my hand, keeping me close. Coughing as I clutch at my stomach, I taste blood. Looking down, I see his dagger sticking out of my abdomen, the blade made of some strange red crystal. Agony moves through me as he pulls it out, and I stumble.

I can hear Caleb and Sylas shouting behind me as he finally releases me, and I fall to my knees. Jeremiah steps around me easily, and then the world tilts. Unable to hold myself up, I find myself staring up at the ceiling.

I feel that charge in the air, and know Jeremiah is using magic. There are flashes of red, and I manage to turn my head in time to see Sylas and Caleb impaled by shards of the red crystal.

My vision starts to fade as Jeremiah turns to me again, and crouches down next to me. I flinch at the feel of his cold fingers against my bloody cheek, and wish I had enough strength left to tear his throat out.

“Don’t worry,” he says, his voice sounding far away. “I’ll give the Silent Blades a new purpose.”

A choked cough wracks my body, and I gasp against the pain. Jeremiah rises and steps over me, and I’m left staring at the bodies of my friends. A creeping numbness starts to spread through my body, little dots dancing in front of my eyes, and then it fades to nothing…
